Having grown up watching copious episodes of the classic PBS show Reading Rainbow when I was a child, I found this article from NPR’s The Two-Way very refreshing! I have linked the NPR post here.
For Nostalgia’s sake (pun intended), I decided to also embed the original Reading Rainbow intro that so many people remember.. Talk about an earworm, “butterfly in the sky…”
and if you’re not interested in reading the article, here is a the video of LeVar Burton reading Go The Fuck To Sleep by Adam Mansbach and illustrated by Ricardo Cortes at Rooster Teeth’s 24 hour Extra Life stream which raised over $200,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Too bad the video didn’t include animation and that silly 1980’s “library music.”
For those interested, here is an article about the successful Kickstarter campaign undertaken by LeVar Burton and CEO Mark Wolfe to reboot the Reading Rainbow brand.
